Hancock County Commissioners Office:

Budget:
The County Commission is responsible for overseeing the County's budget. The County Commission meets with each elected official during the month of February to establish a budget for the day to day operations of each department. The finalized budget must then be sent to Charleston for final approval no later than the end of March. This sets the budget for the new fiscal year which begins on July 1st and runs through June 30th of the next year.

Probates and Estates:
The County Commission has final approval over all probates and estates sent to them from the County Clerk's Office. Once the prosecuting attorney has looked at all the probates and estates to make sure they comply with all the laws the County Commission approves the list for the County Clerk.
